How to cut the costs in DTP

  • Make the all texts in a document editable.
  • Instead of embedding text in your graphics, use text boxes to place text over graphics. It is very easy to add layers that can contain text boxes over graphics. This step will save a considerable amount of time when adding translations.
  • Leave enough white space on your source document to allow room for language expansion. Some languages can expand by as much as 28%.

These steps will avoid a document rebuild after translation, and decrease the number of steps in the translation process while increasing the layout consistency across all your documents.
